Notoris is a fantasy war game featuring a unique combination of classic turn-based mechanics in a non-grid-based system. In it, you command your soldiers in strategic battles, perform epic feats on the battlefield and unravel the mysteries behind the Goblin invasion. Loosely inspired by the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the story revolves around three different main characters. Will you be the young and fearless Havie, the strong and daring Colmac or the wise and adept Mika? Balance and manage your army on your way to gaining fame. This project was funded by student labor, student loans and caffeine. When this game was put up for review, I was quite intrigued by it. The main reason is that I never played a game that falls under this genre. I always wanted to give this genre a shot but ended up procrastinating. Although it seems pretty interesting, it also looks like it’s a bit complicated. The genre I am referring to is Strategy + Turn-based combat. So, this basically means this is the first game I played in that genre. The first impression is supposed to be the best impression.
