Blackwind is a top-down sci-fi action game that puts you in the shoes of a teenager trapped inside a prototype battle armor suit during an alien invasion. You might label it as a bit of a twinstick shooter and that is partially correct. While in your mech (and using the drone) there are some aspects of twinstick shooting in it, but there is also a bit of (admittedly wonky) platforming to do in spots. The melee combat is simple enough, using light and heavy attacks to allow for simple combo strings and you can buy upgrades to add finishers for a bigger impact at the end. By the end of things, I found it was far easier to use the gun and hose down enemies from a distance than it was to engage in a lot of melee combat, but your mileage may vary.
