The addition of helpful allies is a nice touch, you don’t see that very often in games like this. the game uses GZDoom as its engine and the promotional material embraces that. The main menu greets you with the colours of fire and an hardcore riff playing. But then it also wants to tell a story, and this is where one has to make concessions. It saddens me to give a negative review since the game is evidently made with love. The maps are impressive for the engine – although the game likes to make you visit them twice or thrice instead of simply giving you a shortcut. I remember very vividly a secret presented on a lava lake where the structure of a well protruded from the ceiling, dripping water having slowly cooled the lava into an accessible platform.
