This is basically an indie horde shooter with Dead Space’s aesthetics and a mix of Doom 3’s run-and-gun corridor shooter gameplay and Doom 2016’s focus on arena-style combat encounters with constantly spawning in enemies. Unlike the first Hollow, which was a sort of first-person survival horror in space type of game, Hollow 2 is more of a Doom 3 style run-and-gun shooter. There’s no more searching the environment for notes, collectibles, and ammo, instead enemies drop currency which you use to buy items and ammo at checkpoints. The game has 4 weapon types, about a dozen or so different enemy types (though about 80% of them have the same basic behavior), and a few decent boss fights.
