Some power-up combos make short work of levels and thus having a small number makes for short playthroughs. At least on normal diff. Hard difficulty is a challenge all of its own. The range of enemies and level design makes for a varied experience, especially the first few failed attempts. However, once a power-up strategy is found the game becomes quite run of the mill. The depth of shooting and ship mechanics makes for some gratifying strategizing, allowing for a good amount of trial and error to find the best combinations of power-ups.
