For Joey, though, a typical conversation is like a battle to the death. Through his perspective, common people become repulsive monsters that need to be fought verbally in order to survive. At least that’s how it appears to him; he’ll have to face hundreds of terrifying personas in a hallucinogenic, rhythm-based system. Joey is not alone, though. Joey will begin to get over his social anxiety and discover that not everyone he meets is a monster with the support of a gregarious self-described geek named Karl and a fiery investigative podcaster named Marnie.
