(Nearly) every upgrade feels like a substantial improvement to your ability to navigate the entire game more efficiently instead of just being a key that opens a few locks, like lesser Metroidvanias tend to do. This game has no map and no fast travel and they never felt missed because of the excellent construction of the world and how interlinked it is. This is what all 3D platformers should strive to be, and you have absolutely no excuse to pick it up for only $6. I’d pay 5 times the price for such a fantastic experience. My review for this game was going to focus on the interesting world, the cute character, but also a rather weird difficulty spike in the middle. I ended up getting through things that it felt like i needed not only frame perfect but near angle perfect wall kicks to get past them.
